PadSynth — Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2, 2026

These Terms govern your use of PadSynth ("the app"), a synthesizer application for Android developed by Vol.42. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Licence

Vol.42 grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use PadSynth on devices you own or control, for your own musical use — personal or commercial. You may not redistribute, resell, rent, sublicense, or reverse-engineer the app, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it regardless of this restriction.

Price and purchase

Purchases and refunds

All purchases are processed by Google Play, not by Vol.42. Refunds are governed by the Google Play refund policy and Google's terms of service; requests should be made through Google Play. Where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you additional rights of withdrawal or refund, those rights are unaffected by these Terms. If Google Play is unable to resolve a billing issue, contact support@vol42.dev and we will try to help.

Your presets and content

Presets, mappings and any audio you create with PadSynth are yours. Vol.42 claims no ownership of, and has no access to, anything you make. The factory presets supplied with the app may be used, modified and shared freely; music you produce with PadSynth is yours to release commercially without royalty or attribution.

Backups are your responsibility

PadSynth stores your presets only on your device. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data, or losing the device will permanently delete them, and Vol.42 has no way to recover them because no copy exists elsewhere. Use the app's export function to keep your own backups.

Hardware compatibility and third-party trademarks

PadSynth is designed to be played from class-compliant USB MIDI hardware. Vol.42 is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any hardware manufacturer. Akai Professional and MPC are trademarks of inMusic Brands, Inc.; they are referenced only to describe compatibility.

Audio performance — latency, stability and available polyphony — depends on your device's hardware, its manufacturer's audio and USB drivers, and the accessories you use. Vol.42 cannot guarantee any particular latency figure or uninterrupted audio on any specific device, and defects in a device manufacturer's drivers are outside our control. If the app does not perform acceptably with your hardware, Google Play's refund window applies.

No warranty

PadSynth is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. It is a musical instrument, not a safety-critical or professional-guarantee tool; do not rely on it where failure would cause loss or harm.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vol.42 shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, presets, recordings, income or opportunity, arising from use of or inability to use the app. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes to the app and these Terms

Vol.42 may update, change or discontinue features of the app. If these Terms change materially, this page will be updated and the change noted in the app's release notes. Continued use after such an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Latvia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you are a consumer resident in another country, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your country of residence.
