Ownwise — Privacy Policy

This policy is intentionally short, because Ownwise's architecture makes it short: the app does not collect, transmit, store remotely, or share any of your data.

All information you enter — items, photos, values, notes, receipts — is stored only in the app's private storage on your device.
Ownwise does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind.
Ownwise requests only the device permissions it needs to function (camera, photo/media access, and optional biometric authentication for the app-lock feature) — never location, contacts, or background network access.
Any file you export (a PDF report, CSV, or backup file) is created entirely on your device and only leaves your device if and when you personally choose to share, save, or back it up, using Android's standard share sheet or file picker. Ownwise itself never transmits this data anywhere.
If you back up to your own cloud storage via the Android file picker, that transfer happens directly between your device and the storage provider you chose (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox) — Ownwise is not a party to that transfer and never has access to your account or its contents.

What Ownwise stores, and where

All data — item records, photos, receipts, settings — is stored locally in the app's private, sandboxed storage on your Android device. Uninstalling the app without first exporting a backup permanently deletes this data; Ownwise has no way to recover it, because no copy exists anywhere else.

Ownwise does not request location, contacts, microphone, SMS, or background network permissions. By default, Ownwise also strips location (GPS) metadata from photos taken within the app, unless you disable that setting in Settings → Privacy & security.

In-app purchases

Ownwise offers a single one-time in-app purchase (to remove the free-trial item limit), processed entirely through Google Play Billing. Ownwise does not receive or store your payment information — that is handled directly by Google Play, subject to Google's own privacy policy.

Third-party services

Ownwise does not integrate with, or transmit data to, any third-party service, analytics provider, or advertising network.

Children's privacy

Ownwise is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age — consistent with the no-data-collection architecture described above.

Changes to this policy

If Ownwise ever adds a feature that changes this policy (for example, an optional opt-in crash-reporting tool), this page will be updated first, and the change will be clearly disclosed in the app's release notes before it ships. As of this version, no such feature exists.
